Family Webinars

In response to COVID-19, EcoExploratorio launched a series of webinars that provide hands-on activities for children and families do at home. The webinars also provide teachers and educators with tools and activities that can be included in their classrooms. Each video provides the materials and the instructions with a step by step demonstration. All activities are from NASA JPL Resources. Videos are in Spanish.

In Lectura de cuento Space Walk y actividades hands-on (Reading “Space Walk” children’s book and hands on activities), participants explore the planets of the Solar System through the story “Space Walk” and then have the opportunity to appreciate demonstrations of how to simulate moon craters, how to create a cloud and what to do to create your own planet. The materials are homemade and easily available.

Evolución y nuevas tecnologías de la aeronáutica (Aeronautics evolution and new technologies) is designed to discuss new aeronautics technologies and its evolution through time. Participants will do a hands-on activity with reusable and recycled materials.

El mundo de los satélites (The world of satellites) discusses the importance and purpose of satellites, including the parts and functions. During the webinar participants will be able to create their own satellite using reusable materials.

Fases de la luna y construcción de un holograma (Moon phases and how to build an hologram) guides participants through the different phases of the Moon while working on a simple device to produce a hologram.

Rovers: Científicos sobre ruedas (Rovers: scientist on wheels) focuses on the history of rovers and the evolution in technology. Participants will learn to build a rover using recycled materials.

Transportaciones Espaciales (Space Transports) discusses space transportation through time and its great importance in space exploration. Also, models are also described and developed to illustrate the importance of robust transports using reusable materials.
